Over 6 weeks during October & September 2023, the Thriving Greenspaces team at The City of Edinburgh Council ran a consultation on proposals for an Activity Hub on Leith Links.

The proposals were developed by an architect and landscape architect, with support from our team, and the consultation was the first to focus exclusively on the layout of the activity hub, the specific features in it and concepts for the redevelopment of the pavilion building; unlike the previous masterplan consultation last Summer which looked at the park as a whole.

The consultation was completed by 1082 people and 84% of respondents support the proposed designs.

The next steps as detailed by the Thriving Greenspaces team are as follows:

“We have already considered the comments and how to reflect them in the design. Where this is not possible, we will explore how other areas of the park can be adapted to accommodate some of these suggestions.

Our next step is updating these plans to take to planning early next year. After planning consent our focus will be on securing funding to take forward detailed designs and deliver the scheme. Further updates on this will be published on our website.”

We’ll share any updates on the timescales and more details as soon as we can.
